Shew Me Thy Ways

Psalm 25:4, “Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.”
It is amazing to read and study the life of David. We are given glimpses and sometimes very intense looks into the struggles and even the heart of David. We watch as he fights with his human weaknesses and then comes around to searching and asking for God’s wisdom and help.
His request here is to have God teach him God’s ways and God’s paths. I am sure he was learning the vast difference between God’s ways and his own ways.
These types of heartfelt pleas from David gives me hope and strength as I too do the same. I struggle. My mind runs in every direction. It is only when I get quiet in the Lord and listen for that still small voice that things calm down, and I surrender my will to His.
The Bible says this about David in Acts 13:22, “And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.” I used to think this was referencing more about David’s goodness, but the more I learn about David and what God was looking for in a man, the more I realize this was about David seeking God’s heart which we know he truly did.
